Starting Your Dolls’ House Collection

March 11th, 2009

Before you purchase a doll house kit, there are a few things you need to keep in mind:

  • There are many different themes and types in this fascinating world of imagination so be sure to have a good browse around. If possible, visit dolls’ house museums or stores to give you an idea of what dolls’ houses are all about. Use the internet and your local library to research certain periods and styles so you know which one really appeals to you.
  • Browse through our catalogue and view the houses in more detail on the website. You’ll see that the majority of our houses can be dressed in a variety of periods and you can change them to suit your needs.
  • Once you’ve decided on your style and period you’ll have a much clearer idea of the pieces you want to buy, the lighting you’ll need and how the decor will add further flavour to your house.
  • Once you’ve decided which dolls’ house you want, you’ll need to think about how much work you want to do. Do you want to be able to paint and decorate the whole thing yourself? Or would you prefer the QuickStyle kits which come fully painted and externally decorated so all you need to do is build it and select the interior decorations.

Once you’ve decided on your house and selected your kit, you just need to order it to be on the way to being a fully fledged ‘dolls house addict’, we welcome you!
