What a fair house!
May 24th, 2010Mrs Heather Shorton of Suffolk bought her Fairbanks House 18 months ago and the rest, as they say, is history!
“I’ve always loved the Fairbanks House and was delighted when we bought a kit 18 months ago. My husband built the house for me, which included making the picture rails, dado rails, skirting boards and chimney turrets. He also added French doors to the lounge to create a sense of space and light, together with a conservatory, whilst I built a lovely garden.
I then set about painting and decorating the inside of the house. We decided on a traditional interior, so it was in keeping with the exterior style of the house.
Although it all looks finished, as any dolls’ house enthusiast knows, you always find something else to add or change – I’m constantly adding the garden!
We have included a number of dolls’ in our house, including the twins playing in the garden; the music society practising in the music room; and Charlie enjoying a relaxing chat with her friends in the living room; to give the house a ‘lived-in’ feel.
We are absolutely delighted with the finished house – and seem to have had a lot of visitors recently who just want to see the house, especially with its lights on! We are now looking forward to our next project!
