Dress the Bride Competition – Andrea’s Spring Wedding
May 26th, 2010We loved Andrea’s Spring inspired dress – and as she is new to the hobby we were really impressed with the work that went in to it!
Here is how she did it!
“I read about this competition at the last minute so I had to use items that I already had at home. Luckily as I do patchwork, I had quite a bit of textiles lying around which was a good start.
My inspiration for this dress was the Spring – and hopefully that shines through!
I made the skirt from white satin and the over skirt from an old lace curtain I was no longer using. I decorated the dress with small pink roses and pearls and made the butterfly from a larger butterfly I had made earlier. Instead of a veil I decided to make a hat – I found the water lily from one of my previous projects and added some organza. If I had more time I would have also made a bag and a bunch of roses!
I have only just started this hobby and have recently bought my first dolls’ house, but unfortunately do not have any dolls yet which is why I displayed my dress on its hanger!”
