Dress the Bride Competition – Joan Smith’s entry
July 1st, 2010Wedding preparations on a miniature scale!
Joan Smith’s traditional white bride is stunning and we especially loved how she photographed her in her beautiful bedroom preparing for her big moment!
“This bride is one from my Wedding Shop, which I made from The Market Cross kit from The Dolls House Emporium – I have a number of brides and wedding gowns in the shop, but this is my favourite!
The dress is a miniature version of a dress I made for a friend of my daughter. We designed the dress together, as she wanted one made out of satin and in a similar style to the one her mother wore at her own wedding. – the only difference we made was to the length and we made this dress long rather than mid-calf, which was the style in the 60s.
I photographed the bride in a room box I have just completed, so she is surrounded by everything she needs to make herself look beautiful for her big day.”
