Holme Sweet Holme

July 14th, 2010

Holme LodgeIt is easy to see why many miniaturists turn to the Victorian era for inspiration.  It was an age of advancement in science and social reform, elegance and prosperity – from the Great Exhibition at Crystal Palace in 1851 and the emergence of photography; to Charles Dickens and the Pre-Raphaelite painters.  If you are looking to recreate a house from the age of the longest reigning monarch to date, then Holme Lodge may be the perfect project for you.

The three-storey, six-roomed detached residence is the epitome of Victorian elegance and is more than suitable as a country vicarage or a stylish nineteenth-century townhouse.  It has a wealth of authentic features including a beautiful bay window; working “sash” windows with detailed jambs and pediments; and attractive barge boards and porch.  Holme Lodge is available in kit form, if you want to design your own décor inside and out, or as a Quickstyle flat pack, which means you simply need to choose and apply your interior wallpaper – so whatever your finished Victorian vision, this is the ideal house with which to achieve it.
