3rd Place Creative Competition Winner On Display!

April 8th, 2011

You’ve heard the saying “seeing is believing” and that’s certainly true when it comes to the incredibly high standard of entries in our 2010 Creative Competition.  We’ve already featured the first and second place winners in the Ripley shop and now you have a chance to see the third place winner which is about to go on display.

Amanda Stalker’s amazing Village Hall Veterinary Centre is a true labour of love which took her months to create and it shows in the fantastic attention to detail.   A qualified veterinary nurse, Amanda has brought her inside knowledge to creating a realistic veterinary practice in a converted Methodist chapel.  The interior features a fully equipped operating theatre complete with surgeon and canine patient, as well as consulting room and reception area, whilst the exterior has a wealth of detail from pigeons nesting in the bell-tower roof to ivy growing up the walls.

It’s definitely worth a look if you’re thinking of visiting the Ripley shop.   For those of you who visit the Houghton Hall shop in the next couple of months, there’s the chance to see the second place winner – Liz Saxtree-Ford’s Steam Inn. This is a spooky masterpiece of gothic-inspired fun complete with coffin-shaped bar and the skeleton of a vampire with a stake through its heart.
