Johnny Depp fan creates tea party in miniature

September 26th, 2011

Johnny Depp fan Lynette Holmes and used the skills of a well-known bespoke doll-maker to help bring her Alice in Wonderland cameo to wonderful, colourful life.

Lynette, who lives near Sudbury, in Suffolk, sent an amazing set of pictures in to show the work she’d done for this year’s Creative Competition from The Dolls House Emporium.

She decided on the theme as soon as she bought the Garden Pavilion base unit, the one item common to all our entries this year.

“I have an obsession with Johnny Depp,” she admits, “and discovered the wonderful Julie Campbell, who makes fantastic miniature people and she made me Johnny as Mad Hatter.

“I created his workshop full of hats, materials and great-coloured furniture; many of the hats I made myself.

“The garden for his tea party is full of wonderful food and fantastically coloured flowers – I wanted as much colour as possible.”

The Mad Hatter is joined by Dormouse, with the Cheshire Cat lurking in the tree!

More entries will be revealed soon! Here’s a reminder of what the winning creations looked like.
