Lynne’s dolls’ house – a potential life saver for wild animals

November 8th, 2011

55-year-old Lynne Gorie, from Blackpool, is passionate about animals and has just built a dolls’ house to be raffled at the town’s famous zoo in aid of a campaign to save animals in South East Asia.

What’s truly amazing about Lynne’s house is that she has only limited use of the right side of her body, having suffered a brain haemorrhage.

Not that Lynne lets this stop her.  She is an active supporter and fan of Blackpool Zoo, as well as a keen amateur photographer (of animals, naturally).

She is also no stranger to fundraising and last year raised more than £1,000 to help save tigers around the world.

Visitors to Blackpool Zoo during half term week were being given the chance to buy one of the 500 roof tiles used in the making of Lynne’s dolls’ house for £1.  Their name will be entered into a draw to win the dolls’ house and have it decorated to suit their taste.

Lynne’s zest for life puts many of us to shame and when it comes to helping animals, she’s a real tower of strength.

You can see and read more about Lynne’s house here.
