Dolls’ house raises £520 for charity

December 6th, 2011

A few weeks ago, we featured an item on a dolls’ house that caused quite a stir with shoppers in Bromsgrove High Street.

The handmade, Victorian-style house was donated to the Oxfam charity shop by a local woman and literally hundreds of people inquired about purchasing it after it was displayed in the shop window.

According to a report in the Bromsgrove Advertiser, the house was subsequently sold at auction and raised £520 which, because the item was gift aided, actually generated £650 for the Oxfam charity.

All of which goes to show just how popular dolls’ houses are with the public at large.
