Maltese feature shows off Rebecca’s dolls’ house

December 15th, 2011

Our very own forum contributor Rebecca Micallef, who lives in Malta, was spotted in a local magazine there by our latest gift voucher winner!

There was also another good spot from Sue Cotter, who’s still house-hunting and snaffled another £20 by spotting a Classical in someone else’s house…

The winner of £50 in vouchers for noticing the magazine article and sending us a clipping is Jennifer Sammut.

She tells us: “I have just received it by post today it called in Maltese ‘Lehen il-Kunsill ta’ Marsaskala’ which means the Voice of Marsaskala’s Local Council.

“It’s not that common here in Malta to find dolls house articles!”

It was a feature on Rebecca’s entry of her Lake View for our May The Best House Win contest earlier this year.

Rebecca herself said: “I have participated in crafts exhibits myself in Marsaskala  where I have exhibited some of my DHE dolls houses.

“As dolls houses is a taboo in Malta everyone was fascinated with my dolls houses and the Local Council of Marsaskala wanted to know about my works and the passion I have for dolls houses as it seems to be rare in Malta.

“They took some photos and the article just says what a lovely hobby building a dolls house could be.”

Meanwhile Sue says: “Spotted this one last night, think its the Classical.

“You seriously would not believe how many estate listings have Dolls House Emporium houses in them, they are obviously the most popular.”
