A ghost story for a dolls’ house

January 6th, 2012

The world famous Queen Mary’s Dolls’ House in Windsor Castle has always inspired admiration and praise but did you know that it also inspired the writing of a classic ghost story by a highly regarded author of spine tingling fiction?

When the house was being created in the 1920s, leading authors of the day were invited to submit works for inclusion in its miniature library.

Writers such as Rudyard Kipling answered the call and so did M R James, a notable writer of ghost stories who created a wholly original story for the dolls’ house library.

Can you guess the title of the work M R James contributed?   What else but ‘The Haunted Dolls’ House’.
