Building a dolls’ house fit for Harrods

July 6th, 2012

Have you ever wondered what makes a special dolls’ house *extra* special?

Here at The Dolls House Emporium we’ve been asked to create a wonderfully luxurious version of our flagship house, Grosvenor Hall.

It will form part of Harrods’ new Toy Kingdom on the third floor of the prestigious London store.

We’re filming the work we do on it day by day so that collectors and dolls’ house builders like yourself can see the inspiration and creativity which goes into a project like this.

Today’s film explains:

  • Why the house is a little bit different in construction to what you would build at home;
  • What’s special about this new display;
  • Where the lighting wires go when it’s a 360-degree walk-around model
  • What we put inside to get things started.

As the series progresses, watch the house come to life with furniture, decorations and dolls!

The Dolls House Emporium’s prestigious top-of-the-range model will take pride of place in the new Toy Kingdom, so tune in next week to see how our work progresses.
