Tara’s Palace, the Museum of Childhood at Wicklow in Ireland has some special attractions for visitors to mark Hallowe’en.
During the whole of October there’s a Hallowe’en Quiz to try and the chance to enter a Pumpkin Competition!
And then at the museum on October 31, between 2.30pm and 4.30pm visitors are encouraged to turn up in fancy dress and get their faces painted for ‘Trick or Treating’!
The museum itself is at Powerscourt House, Enniskerry, and has been in existence since the early 1900s. It is now home to Ireland’s largest period dolls’ house, Tara’s Palace, which took over 20 years to build and furnish.
There are hundreds of other fascinating exhibits, including a ‘house in a bottle’, the ‘smallest doll in the world’ and a collection of dolls’ houses dating back over 300 years.
It’s not far from Dublin so if you’re planning a visit you might do well to work it into your schedule.
