Exquisite high-spec literary collection from The Dolls House Emporium

January 30th, 2013

To mark the 200th year in print of Jane Austen’s romantic novel, Pride and Prejudice, The Dolls House Emporium is introducing a pair of exquisite porcelain hand-crafted dolls, portraying Elizabeth and Darcy in their wedding day finery.

The much-loved story follows Elizabeth Bennet as she deals with issues of manners, education and marriage in the society of the landed gentry of the early 19th Century.

Both of the new dolls are hand-crafted in finest porcelain and dressed in full regency attire.

Mr Fitzwilliam Darcy’s costume features a handsome waistcoat under a fitted morning suit with a cravat and top hat. He features perfectly groomed sideburns! Elizabeth’s hair is curled and styled, and she wears an ivory wedding dress complete with over dress and veil. Underneath she’s wearing silky bloomers with lace detail. Delicate detailing is a feature of both dolls’ outfits.

The Dolls House Emporium has also created a beautiful collection of gifts to adorn their marital home, at Darcy’s ‘Pemberley’ estate.

Along with the new dolls they provide inspiration for an imaginative room display: one option might be to re-dress a dolls’ house for the wedding breakfast – after first spending a little time re-reading Pride and Prejudice to decide on a scene that best suits your skills.

Pride and Prejudice free gift collection

The supporting gifts in the exclusive limited edition collection have been made available FREE to collect with a minimum spend until May. They include a pretty heart cushion, complete with lace edging and ‘E and F’ embroidery-design transfer, a ‘watercolour painting’ of their marital home, Darcy’s Pemberley estate, a pair of pretty Coat Hangers with E and F Initials, a pair of silhouette portraits and a beautiful floral wedding garland.

The time is right to start planning a brand new room display around some of the novel’s best-known lines: “It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife” or “A lady’s imagination is very rapid; it jumps from admiration to love, from love to matrimony, in a moment”, perhaps!
