Economy Ideas For Your Dolls’ House

Friday, August 22nd, 2008

With everyone watching the pennies at the moment, we thought you might like some ideas for making your dolls’ house funds go as far as possible, so to start you off, here are some money saving tips to try in the Dining Room;

  • Use plain white plates is they are to be mostly covered with food, or paint card plates.
  • Buttons can also be used as plates and will look very fancy.
  • Choose sets of cheap wine bottles to fill your wine rack - but do invest in two or three special bottles and some ‘filled’ wine glasses to place in full view.
  • Make your own paper napkins from coloured paper or fine cotton fabric.
  • Inexpensive ‘gold’ cutlery make a real impact on the table.
  • Chopsticks can be made from matchsticks- slice lengthwise and cut to length - one matchstick will provide two pairs of chopsticks.
  • To add a touch of luxury, remember to put a vase on the table- even a single flower can look so romantic.

If you have any money- saving tips to share, please post them on our forum…we look forward to hearing from you soon!
