Dry fitting the main house
Marie Wendt's Grosvenor Hall - Posted on April 1st, 2008 by MarieToday I dry-fitted the main house. This went together much easier than I thought it would because of its sheer size. But I had no problems with the pieces working by myself. The slots in the pieces really make the assembly quick and easy. The room sizes, as you can see, are VERY generous and I love the almost 11″ ceiling heights because this allows for so much creativity. I will have absolutely no problems when decorating. The rooms are so large that anything I could possibly want to put into them will be included. The only challenging aspect to this assembly is the insertion of the half-floors where the staircases meet. With the hallway sidewalls in place, inserting these half-floors will be difficult. So, when I’m ready to get out the glue, I will probably defer from the assembly directions just slightly and put them in at the same time as the 2nd sidewall to make my job easier. This will involve much thinking ahead if I want to wallpaper the walls before putting them up as well.
