Dickensian dolls: send us your photos
Tuesday, December 13th, 2011Have you created a Dickensian miniature scene you’d like to share with the readers of this blog?
We’ve got copies of the classic David Lean classic 1948 film Great Expectations starring John Mills and Valerie Hobson to give away on DVD for the first 25 people to send in a photo of their Dickensian dolls’ house scene.
Please send the images to competitionsecretary@dollshouse.co.uk before the end of Sunday December 18 and we’ll feature them here, day by day.
You don’t need a Dickens’ doll in your scene – it’s the Victorian setting and what you’ve done with it that we’ll be happy to share.
The DVD is UK region 2. This 1946 film won two Oscars and was nominated for three more. It was a successfully pared-down version of the book and also starred Jean Simmons and Alec Guinness.
Bargain Hunt reveals a dolls’ house we used to know!
Wednesday, December 7th, 2011A good spot by one of our eagle-eyed customers, who noticed a familiar friend lurking in the sale room of Bargain Hunt late last week.
Chloe Labbett was watching the show filmed in Anglesey when she saw what looked like a Dolls House Emporium product.
It took some head-scratching at this end but we identified it as a “Traditional”, a model which ceased production more than ten years ago!
It’s nice to see one in such good condition and for her trouble, Chloe wins £50 of Dolls House Emporium gift vouchers.
And here’s a recap on the rules and prizes for when YOU see one of our houses where you wouldn’t expect it.
Please e-mail us at competitionsecretary@dollshouse.com as soon as you can send in a photo of the shop window, your TV screen or whatever – or e-mail a link to the i-player where we can check out your claim.
